Boots vs. M&S

I’d do a poll, but it could get embarrassing when the votes are too thin on the ground – later on in blogging life, maybe!

Meanwhile, despite all the talk about M&S being one of the best campaigns of the year, Boots has been building up quite a bit of steam… then they released this beauty, directed by David LaChapelle…

Now, that’s idea and director in perfect harmony. I can’t help but be seduced by it.

Feel free to comment… Boots vs. M&S – for my money, Boots just upped the stakes and took the lead.

As an addition, I’ve finally learnt that embedded YouTube videos don’t work with RSS feeds (even with the power of Feedburner) – at least, not always, so I’ll try to remember from here on to put in a link at the same time…

In this case, just go to YouTube here…

I’d not seen that particular spot before.

I like it a lot; it seems able to tell a story about its consumers whilst (amazingly) making the products the hero.

Certainly offers up a lot more depth than the M&S campaign; the only execution I’d seen prior to that one was the ‘Secrets of Boudoir’ ad. I was wondering how they’d keep it going.

    Hats off to Mother.
